  5. Do you know how to generate the symbol for “… is not a subset of …”? I 
  6. give you a hint: it’s in the Symbol font. You can’t find it in the Key 
  7. Caps DA? That’s because you first have to press option-` and then shift-
  8. A; Key Caps won’t help you with such sequences. What? It does not work? 
  9. Ah, you have a German keyboard! Sorry, I can’t help you then…

  11. You can now avoid experimenting with the Key Caps DA or looking 
  12. characters up in keystroke/character tables. Whenever you want to insert 
  13. a special character into your word processor document and you don’t know 
  14. the proper key combination (or sequence), pull down the Character Map DA 
  15. from the apple menu, select the desired font from the CharMap menu, find 
  16. the character in the map, click on it and — here it is. Character Map 
  17. will generate the character for you as if you had typed it on the 
  18. keyboard. Of course, it inserts the character in the font that’s 
  19. currently active within your document. Thus you may have to select the 
  20. generated character and format it with the correct font.

  22. The best thing is that Character Map DA is completely free. You can use 
  23. it and distribute it, but you must not take money for it. Should you
